May 2008
This is Kim, Norma's sister. I was honoured to be asked by Jim and Kevin to make a contribution to Norma's blog. I have found this blog to be a wonderful tool for all of us who care about Norma to be kept up to date on her progress as she works so hard to make a full recovery. It has touched me deeply to see the depth of love and care she is receiving from so many wonderful friends and family members. We should all be so blessed in our lifetimes.
Recently our family lost someone very dear to us. Our mom, Lorene, passed away on Monday, October 19th. She had been bravely living with Alzheimer's disease for many years. In the past week she began to decline and it was evident that her time was near. With the guidance and care of Hospice she was in peace and comfortable until the end.
At this time the family plans to have a memorial service for her at a later date.
Great picture of you, Kim, Norma and your mom. I am so sorry about your loss. She was a good woman and a good mother. I have many good memories of her. Thank you for sharing this picture and your thoughts.

Wow, Greens & Wolfords,
ReplyDeleteI'm very sorry to learn that Lorene has left us all! I hope she is with Norman, again, and they are having a beautiful reunion together! From my view, across the street at 9934, The Greens were the best neighbors ever!! My heart is with all of you, and thanks Kim for sharing this beautiful photo.
Peace be with you all,
Love,
Susie

Hi, Norma & Family,
ReplyDeleteI tried to call Norma twice today, but a woman at your newest phone number (listed on this blog a few weeks ago] told me that was no longer your number, Norma, but you have your own number now. That was odd, so I called the main Danto tel. no., and they didn't know what your own number might be, but someone transferred me to your unit, and another woman answered, and transferred me again...but I just stayed on hold listening to recorded music, no one else answered. I'm sorry I haven't called sooner, GF--I've been thinking of you for sure, but I've had a longtime pet's illness/passing occurring here...I don't want to make you any sadder, though. I did get that book about the Brain (by Dr. Doidge) from the public library (my request came in)and I've been reading about Dr. Taub's theory & practice concerning neuroplasticity. Did you get this book? I would love to get you a copy at Borders and send it to you. The DeNiro dvds, too, are still coming!...it's just been a sad time, here, lately; but now we're back & I sure hope you've been making some progress that gives you a boost in hope & courage, Mi Amiga!! I love you, never doubt that!
XOXOXO Susie
PS: Would someone blog Norma's latest updated phone number here--please & thanks!! ;D
