Hello,
I visited Norma yesterday, and she was in therapy when I arrived, so I had the opportunity to observe some of the daily, rigorous training that her, and others at Danto, engage in on a daily basis. Norma seems brighter, more articulate, and she is generally enthusiastic about her improvement, but at the same time, she is also impatient to see more results from her hard work. Everyone at Danto seems to know her, and she seems to brighten the lives of those around her. As I said in the last update, she really has been through an enormous shock, and she has suffered tremendously, but she is very optimistic and hopeful for her future wellness.
Norma has a roommate now, who is an older, pleasant woman (91), but the better news is that the rather boisterous gentleman, who was in the room next to her, has moved, at least far enough away that Norma doesn't hear him any longer, or have to listen to his personal business. He may have had problems with his hearing, so I am not being disrespectful, but he was a bit unnerving even for the strongest of heart. Norma never complained about him, but I'm certainly glad he has found a new home. "Quiet . . . . "
Norma is anxious to leave Danto, to be well enough to take care of herself again, so keep encouraging her in whatever way you know how. If you have any general information or something new to report about Norma, and if you want it posted here for everyone to know, please send me an e-mail (or Jim or Kevin), and I will make sure that the information gets posted, okay?
Take care,
Colleen

Hi, Norma-Norma! (Remember how we used to call for each other at our front doors, "Norma! Norma!" "Susie! Susie!" (we'd sing it! haha!) Well, we spoke for about 10 mins. tonight by phone. I'm not quite sure why we ended our conversation, but that's fine; it seemed Jim was saying something, in the room, ?? Anywho...you're sounding stronger, and we had a joke about "Where did you [Susie] go?" ("Back home to FL--you didn't tell me you wanted me to STAY in MI!!"--we laughed together at that! & I told you about the Farm games on Facebook I'm playing, & that I can't wait for you to be strong enough soon & be my farm neighbor! Where's your old laptap, anyway?! Get a new one! Let's email! That could be some Occ. Ther. for you, too! (I tried calling last night, but no answer that time--I'm so glad I connected with you this evening!) & I think that's fantastic that you're thinking ahead to when you'll leave Danto & live on your own again! That's a terrific thing to focus on--and I KNOW you will accomplish this! OK, Green-ee! The Tigers had a punk day today, and we all do at times as well...you keep pushing/trying/practicing--you inspire all of us, My Love! Girl Friend, I just know you're the Rock Star at Danto's! And you'll be rockin' it even more when you take your next big step, and leave Danto's behind. Keep your spirits up & get online with all of us as soon as you can!! Let's make this a two-way blog, OK? Hugs & SMOOCHES, I love you ~ Susie ;D
